In this video, we go step-by-step through the installation of this kit. Whether you are looking to install your supercharger kit as a DIY project, or are a seasoned mechanic, we lay out every step to make the job as smooth as possible. Let’s get started with some basic tools:
- Socket set – 8mm, 10mm, 13mm, and 18mm sockets
- Allen/hex wrenches – 4mm and 6mm Allen/hex key
- Box wrenches – 10mm and 19mm
- Trim removal tool – For popping off wire harness clips and interior panels
- Pliers, utility knife – For clamps and to trim hoses and cut heater/vacuum lines

The Installation Process
The idea of installing your own supercharger kit may sound daunting, but not when you can follow the process down to every last detail. Jeremy from VMP Performance is an expert mechanic and guides us every step of the way.
Preparation And Disassembly
Goal: Get the engine ready for the supercharger install.
- Drain the coolant to prevent spills.
- Remove the heater hoses, PCV lines, and vacuum hoses.
- Relieve fuel pressure, then remove the fuel rail and intake manifold.
- Clean the engine valley thoroughly.
- Trim any small areas on the block if the instructions call for it.
- Adjust or reroute the knock sensor wiring for clearance.
Prepping The Intake And Supercharger Hardware
Goal: Install and prepare the main components that support the supercharger.
- Install the new intake manifold and torque it evenly.
- Add the 3-bar MAP sensor to the intake.
- Install the new brackets, idler pulleys, and belt tensioner.
- Reinstall the harmonic balancer using the correct torque sequence.
- Fit the fuel rails and injectors, making sure O-rings are lubricated.
- Plug in all new wiring extensions (MAP, IAT, and purge solenoid).
Supercharger Installation And Front-End Modifications
Goal: Mount the blower and set up the cooling system.
- Place the supercharger on the intake and tighten the bolts evenly.
- Install the throttle body and connect its wiring plug.
- Reconnect the vacuum and PCV lines.
- Remove the grille and bumper trim to access the front frame area.
- Mount the heat exchanger and intercooler pump in front of the radiator.
- Connect all coolant hoses between the pump, heat exchanger, and supercharger.
- Wire the intercooler pump into the fuse box and ground it to the battery.
- Mount the coolant (degas) bottles and check hose routing for clearance.
Fuel System Modifications
Goal: Upgrade the fuel delivery system and finish the install.
- Install the fuel pump booster (Boost-A-Pump) behind the rear seat.
- Modify the FPDM slightly and connect it with the provided jumper harness.
- Secure all new wiring safely away from heat or moving parts.
- Fill the intercooler system and remove any air using an airlift or vacuum tool.
- Reconnect the battery and check for leaks or loose connections.
- Start the engine and verify everything runs smoothly.
