VMP customer Chad Dowd is no stranger to the racing scene. His 2012 Mustang GT, AKA “Da Cream Machine” is extremely popular among the street racing community. The Mustang has a stock engine equipped with a VMP Gen3 TVS supercharger, VMP fuel rails, and return style fuel system for e85.

“My car is a true daily driver,” said Dowd. “My wife and I drive it around town with our two year old in the back seat.”

While most racers take their cars to the local drag strip, Dowd prefers to keep his racing on the street. He competes in legal street races throughout the country. One of his most recent victories was the 2018 Coffeyville Street Drags. This legal street race takes place on a shut-down road in Coffeyville, Kansas, giving racers the opportunity to battle head-to-head for cash and bragging rights. This victory was his second consecutive at Coffeyville, and it sent him home with over $1,000 in cash prizes.

“I plan on attending more of these legal street race events and continue winning as much as I can,” Dowd said. “Great vendors like VMP help me compete with purpose built race cars in a real daily driver.”

If you see Chad and “Da Cream Machine” down in Mexico, make sure you say hello! We look forward to hearing about his next accomplishment.
