Michael-Ciborowski-Mustang-GTMichael Ciborowski has been making waves in NMRA’s Steeda Limited Street class with his 2014 Mustang GT. Equipped with a VMP Gen2 TVS and VMP’s 8-rib drive system, Ciborowski broke the 8-second barrier.

“As the build progressed, we did a return fuel system to run E85 and smaller pulleys,” Michael explains. “Wanting more power, Justin Starkey recommended the 8-rib setup with the 15% overdrive damper and the billet tensioner.”

Michael Ciborowski 2014 Mustang GTLike all diehard racers know, trials and tribulations come with the territory. In May, during NMRA’s Maple Grove race, the TH400 transmission broke in the semi-finals. Three days before making passes at the NMRA Ohio event, Michael had the front end of his Mustang GT jacked up by a Kubota tractor.  He pulled the engine for upgrades and installed a new transmission. “We finally got all the parts together on Monday before Ohio, and we put the engine and transmission back in Monday night around 11 p.m. We still had a few parts missing until Thursday morning. Loaded the car to tune it Thursday afternoon and got home and ready for the race by 10:30 p.m. We left for Columbus around midnight. I really didn’t think we would make it,” Michael tells us.

With a new Proformance TH400 transmission installed, new camshafts, and the VMP Gen2 kit, Michael’s car was ready to rock and roll in Columbus. Michael made it to Ohio and wiped out the field in the Limited Street class and landed himself in the winner’s circle. With the help of the VMP Gen2 TVS and 8-rib drive system, he piloted his Mustang GT to an 8.72 pass at 155 miles per hour.

Michael also won the small blower class during Mod Motor Nationals 2017. He was running the VMP Gen2 kit and a 6R80 transmission. We can’t wait to see what Ciborowski’s car will do during the rest of the season!
