VMP at Shelbyfest 2018

The VMP crew made the long trek to downtown Jefferson City, Missouri, to attend the highly anticipated Shelbyfest event.

VMP brought along our mobile dyno. Cars were strapped down and Mustang owners could see just how much power their ponies put down. We also provided dyno tunes and performed onsite installs.

With our crew was Justin Young and his insane chute-packing Shelby GT500 which now sports our big, bad VMP Gen3. Chicane23’s Jonathan Blevins joined in on the fun with his Coyote-swapped 2008 Shelby GT500. The car is built for serious competition in the Optima Ultimate Street Car series. Topped with a VMP Gen3 blower, his Shelby GT500 made some rowdy noise on the dyno.

Joe Goodnough dialed in the VMP tune on the dyno. The car threw down a healthy 827 rwhp and 657 ft∙lb of torque on the dyno.

A plethora of other Mustangs capitalized on our mobile dyno service to see what horses they were cranking out.

The event features two full days of autocross, a scenic cruise to the Anheuser-Busch Clydesdale Ranch, a ladies’ lunch at Canterbury Hill Winery, the 12th-annual charity cruise-in, Saturday Show and Shine followed by a banquet, and a Cinco de Mayo party.

Kyle Carraway is the man behind the scenes of Shelbyfest. The idea started in 2006 with 6 men who just purchased their brand new 2007 Shelby GT500 Mustangs. It then turned into Shelbyfest with 26 cars. The event has grown to over 600 cars and 15,000 spectators and is backed by vendors and sponsors. Shelbyfest continues to be a favorite event in the Mustang world and it is open to all Ford models. Next up – Carlisle! We will be in Pennsylvania at the Carlisle Ford Nationals from June 1-3.
